En bus publico
Hay muchas oportunidades para ir a otras ciudades y lugares donde se puede salir y disfrutar el paisaje. Por día estuvimos en bus público a Puerto Plata, Sosua, Cabarete y además a Las Galeras, Santiago y Santo Domingo. Es posible entrar y salir los GuaGua en todos lugares en sus caminos. Caribe Tours y Metro Tours tienen sus Paradas en medio de Puerto Plata y en Santiago y Santo Domingo por ejemplo. Es comodo pero a veces hace frio por demadiado aire. Se puede comprar boletos unos dias antes para tener reservacion.Si no es posible que el proximo bus ya esta ocupado. Esta manera de viajar es bastante barato y muy interesante juntos con la gente que vive aqui.
By public bus
There are many possibilities to go to other cities and places to enjoy going out and having a view of the countryside. By day we took public bus to Puerto Plata, Sosua, Cabarete and also to Las Galeras, Santiago and Santo Domingo. It is possible step in and out the GuaGua at every place on the way. Caribe Tours and Metro Tours have there stations in the middle of Puerto Plata and for example in Santiago and Santo Domingo. It is comfortable but sometimes cold inside the buses because of too much air condition. You can buy the tickets some days before to have a reservation. If not it is possible that the next bus may be ocupied. This way to travel is really cheap and interesting together with people living here.
Mit öffentlichen Bussen
Es gibt sehr viele Möglichkeiten, um die Städte und Orte in der Umgebung zu erkunden, dort auszugehen und die Landschaft zu genießen. Wir sind tagsüber in öffentlichen Bussen nach Puerto Plata, Sosua, Cabarete und auch bis hoch nach Las Galeras, Santiago und Santo Domingo gefahren. Es ist möglich in ein GuaGua auf dessen Weg an jedem möglichen Ort ein- und auszusteigen. Caribe Tours und Metro Tours haben ihre festen Haltestellen mitten in Puerto Plata und z.B. in Santiago und Santo Domingo. Die Busse sind bequem, nur manchmal etwas kalt wegen der Klimaanlage. Man kann schon ein paar Tage vorher Tickets kaufen und damit einen Platz im Bus reservieren, ansonsten kann es sein, dass der nächste Bus schon voll ist. Diese Art zu reisen ist ziemlich günstig und total interessant mitten unter den Menschen, die hier leben.
Sosua
Sosua es una ciudad mas o menos 30 km de puerto plata con una playa pública muy linda donde hay algunos bares y restaurantes. Es en camino del Gua Gua (bus) a Rio San Juan. Se vale pasar un día o unas horas allá para caminar, cenar y tomar unas bebidas. En la playa hay un ambiente especial en medio de la vida. El mar en la bahía normalmente no tiene olas grandes y invita para nadar o esnórquel y despues tomar un cocktail con vista del mar. En el centro de la ciudad hay muchas tiendas, bares y restaurantes también. Algunos de estos tienen dueños de Europa o America, entonces hay varias ofertas. Quien quiere salir por la noche debería informarse antes sobre la vida nocturna de Sosua para no ser sorprendido de experiencias que no fueran deseadas.
Sosua is a city more or less 30 km from Puerto Plata with a very nice public beach where there are some bars and restaurants. It is on the way of the Gua Gua (bus) to Rio San Juan. It is worth to spend a day or some hours there to have a walk, lunch and some drinks. At the beach there is a special atmosphere in the middle of action. The sea at this bay normally is quiet and invites you swim or snorkle and after that, take a cocktail with sea view. At the centre of the city you can find shops, bars and restaurants, too. Some of the owners are from Europe or America, so there are many diferent offers. If you like to go out there by night you should inform yourself before beeing surprised of experiences you might not have whished.
Sosua ist eine Stadt ca. 30 km von Puerto Plata mit einem schönen öffentlichen Strand, an dem es zahlreiche kleine Bars und Restaurants gibt. Der Ort ist einfach zu erreichen mit dem Gua Gua (bus) Richtung Rio San Juan. Auf jeden Fall lohnt es sich einen Tag oder ein paar Stunden dort zu verbringen, um herum zu schlendern und einzukehren für ein Mittagessen und ein paar Gläschen. Am Strand ist eine sehr schöne Atmosphäre voller Leben. Das Meer ist in der Bucht normalerweise recht ruhig und lädt zum Schwimmen und Schnorcheln ein, um danach noch einen Cocktail mit Meerblick zu genießen. Im Zentrum kann man viele Läden, Bars und Restaurants, teils mit Eigentümern aus Europa und Amerika und damit unterschiedlichen Angeboten. Es gibt auch deutsche Kneipen mit Mettbrötchen, Frikadellen und Bundesliga Fußball. Wer hier nachts ausgehen möchte, sollte sich vorher über das Nachtleben erkundigen, um ungewollte Überraschungen zu vermeiden.
Cabarete
Detrás de Sosua en camino de Puerto Plata a Rio San Juan a donde se puede ir en Gua Gua (Bus) esta Cabarete. Este lugar normalmente es muy famoso como paraiso de Kite Surfing pero también se vale visitarlo para disfrutar la playa pública y los bares y restaurantes. Las olas pueden ser un poco mas alta de alrededor de Puerto Plata y así nadar fue muy divertido para nosotros. Nos gustamos relajar con comida buena en un de los restaurantes lindo decorados o tomar por ejemplo un pitcher de Caipirinha en la playa. Hay mucha gente interesante de verla. Por la noche también hubo un ambiente fantástico. En un lugar el mar fue iluminado y en los bares vimos la gente celebrando. Se debería informase cuando sale el último Gua Gua pero es posible regresar en taxi estos 40 km a Puerto Plata si se quiere quedar un poco más alla.
Behind Sosua on the way from Puerto Plata to Rio San Juan where you can go by Gua Gua (bus) there you find Cabarete. This place normally is famous for beeing a Kite Surfing paradise, but also it is worth to visit for enjoying the public beach with its bars and restaurants. The waves can be a little bit higher than arround Puerto Plata, so swimming was exciting for us. Also we liked to relax with a good meal at one of the nice decorated restaurants or for example with a pitcher of Caipirinha at the beach. There are many interesting people to see. At night also there was a fantastic atmoshpere. At one point the sea was iluminated and we saw many people celebrating at the bars. You should inform yourself when the last Gua Gua leaves, but it is possible to return to Puerto Plata these 40 km by taxi if you like to stay a little bit longer.
Hinter Sosua auf dem Weg von Puerto Plata nach Rio San Juan, wohin man mit dem Gua Gua (Bus) fahren kann, befindet sich Cabarete. Eigentlich ist dieser Ort berühmt als Kite Surfing Paradise, aber es lohnt sich auch hinzufahren, um den Strand mit seinen Bars und Restaurants zu genießen. Die Wellen können etwas höher sein als rund um Puerto Plata, so hatte das Schwimmen noch den besonderen Kick. In einem der sehr schön dekorierten Restaurants bei einem guten Essen oder z.B.bei einem Pitccher Caipirinha zu relaxen hat uns auch super gefallen. Es gibt hier viele interessante Leute zu sehen. Am Abend entstand eine besonders schöne Atmoshpäre am Strand. An einer Stelle war das Meer angestrahlt und wir sahen einige Leute in den Bars feiern. Man sollte sich informieren wann das letzte Gua Gua zurückfährt, aber es gibt auch die Möglichkeit für die ca. 40 km nach Puerto Plata ein Taxi zu nehmen wenn man doch noch etwas länger bleiben möchte.
Santiago de los Caballeros
En Metro o Caribe Tours se puede ir a Santiago para pasar un dia o mas en la ciudad algo mas grande de Puerto Plata. Hay buena vista del monumento. Tambien hay muchas bares y clubs para celebrar, shopping malls y en invierno vale ir al estadio de Beisbol para ver el equipo de Aguilas Cibaenas.
By Metro o Caribe Tours you can go to Santiago to spend a day or more at the next larger city from Puerto Plata. You find a nice view at the monumento. Also there are many bars and clubs to celebrate at night, shopping malls and in winter time it is worth to go to the baseball stadium to see the team of Aguilas Cibaenas.
Mit dem Bus von Metro oder Caribe Tours gelangt man von Puerto Plata in die nächste größere Stadt Santiago. Hier gibt es eine schöne Aussicht vom monumento, dem berühmten Denkmal, außerdem gibt es einige Bars und Clubs, um Feiern zu gehen, Einkaufszentren, und im Winter lohnt sich ein Besuch im Baseballstadion, um die Mannschaft Aguilas Cibaenas zu sehen.
Santo Domingo
A la capital Santo Domingo se puede ir de Puerto Plata o Santiago tambien en Metro o Caribe Tours. La zona colonial nos parece muy interesante, tambien disfrutamos caminar al malecon con buena vista del mar, y hay muchas tiendas para comprar todas las cosas y ropa. Ademas tuvimos el suerte de ver un gran concierto en el estadio olimpico.
To the capital Santo Domingo you can go by Metro or Caribe Tours, either. We found the zona colonial very interesiting, also we liked having a walk at the malecon with sea view, and there were many shops in the city to buy everthing and nice clothes. And it was very special join an great concert at the olympic stadium.
In die Hauptstadt Santo Domingo kommt man ebenfalls gut mit Metro oder Caribe Tours. Die Zona Colonial fanden wir sehr interessant, auch haben wir einen Spaziergang am dortigen Malecon mit schöner Aussicht aufs Meer genossen. Es gibt sehr viele tolle Geschäfte zum Einkaufen. Außerdem hatten wir ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis als wir ein großes Konzert im estadio olimpico erleben durften.
